The past few months had been very challenging for my career and personal life but thankfully, there are people who stuck it out with me through the hardest times. As I am the eldest, it is expected of me to be strong but thankfully, at times when I feel like giving up, I have my older cousins to run to. Ate Marge is one of those. Even if she is working in Doha, she makes it a point to comfort, scold and give me pieces of advice when needed.
She’s here in Cebu for a vacation and too bad she will be leaving on Tuesday. To serve as her “despedida” treat from me, I invited her over at Café Talk in Tamiya, Basak. I never knew that this café has a branch here in Lapu-Lapu but thankfully new-found-friend “Sir” showed me this place last week. Salamat Captain!
What I love about this café:
What I appreciate most at Café Talk is the separate “rooms” for guests. It gives you privacy so whether you are spending a cozy time with friends or with someone special, you can mind less of the other guests and just focus on the people you are with.
WARNING:
This does not mean though that you can just do what you want. The first time I was there, I felt really uncomfortable as the couple on the other room was feeling a little too comfortable. Sir offered me to sit beside him instead if it was making me too uncomfortable seeing what they were doing but thankfully there was already a “room” available upstairs and I happily climbed up the steep stairs just to get the couple out of my sight.
Sorry, I am not so much a fan of too much PDA.
The café is also very silent, well, generally. Even if they have this large TV that is used for screening movies, you can still talk to your companions.
The food is also great. The burger, fries and coffee were more than enough for the two of us. The price is typical of many Korean-concept cafes.
Wi-fi is also very reliable. You can be sure to load those videos on YouTube (right, Sir?)
Today, Ate and I talked about so many things about faith, love, relationships and work. I am glad to have cousins who are acting as my elder siblings. Sometimes, I do need some scolding! Haha
This afternoon had been a great time for me. Ate told me it is her first time to come to a café like this. I am glad that she also enjoyed the burger, fries and coffee. It is just a great feeling to spend time with someone who has gone through basically the same things as you. I learned a lot and also shared a lot about the things I learned from the past and I am as excited about the future as many people in my life are.
Until next adventure, then?
